Do you know the price of CM Siddaramaiah's shoes?

Synopsis

JD(S) State president HD Kumaraswamy claimed that CM Siddaramaiah wears luxury shoes worth Rs 60,000 He ridiculed Siddaramaiah for being 'pseudo-socialist' Earlier, it was reported that Siddaramaiah wore Hermes and Louis Vuitton shoes

After coming under severe flak from the Opposition parties for wearing Rs 80 lakh worth Hublot watch, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah could be in for more embarrassment at the Belagavi winter session that begins on Monday. For, JD(S) State president claimed that Siddaramaiah wears shoes worth Rs 60,000 while he boasts himself of being a leader with socialist values.

The former chief minister Kumaraswamy took a dig at Siddaramaiah calling him a pseudo-secular. "CM Siddaramaiah who boasts himself to be a Socialist wears shoes worth Rs 60,000. Siddaramaiah - all his life - has been talking about socialist ideology. But in real life he leads a lavish lifestyle, a symbol of pro-capitalist," Kumaraswamy ridiculed. He also said that Siddaramaiah does not spare any Opposition party leader in branding them 'pseudo'. But that term now fits Siddaramaiah, himself, reports Kannada Prabha.

It may be recalled here that it was former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy who exposed the Hublot watch issue embarrassing the chief minister. Following the controversy, the chief minister had claimed that it was a gift from a Dubai-based doctor, his acquaintance. To silence the Opposition, Siddaramaiah later surrendered the watch to the State treasury calling it a 'State asset'.

In fact, it is not the first time that Siddaramaiah's pro-poor image is taking a beating. Earlier, his alleged penchant for luxury brands had made headlines. Bangalore Mirror had earlier reported that indicated Siddaramaiah's penchant for luxury brands.

Consider some of these - Two Rolex watches. The price of one was estimated at Rs 9 lakh. Apart from Rs two lakh worth Hublot watch, he also reportedly possessed Audemars Piguet watch worth Rs 3 lakh and one Tissot watch worth Rs one lakh.

The daily had also reported that he wore Louis Vuitton shoes worth Rs 40,000 and also had Hermes leather sandals worth Rs 30,000.

Earlier, a video of chief minister's assistant bending down to tie the CM's shoe laces while he looked elsewhere had attracted severe criticism from all quarters. Siddaramaiah was trolled for calling himself a 'socialist' and letting his assistant tie his shoe laces for him.
