
There is confusion regarding cloud seeding just when farmers are counting days for rains. After the government announced that the cloud seeding would be taken up this week, Revenue Minister Kagodu Thimmappa announced that it would be done next month creating confusion, reported Kannada Prabha.
Minister for Rural Development H K Patil has announced that cloud seeding would be taken up in next 4 or 5 days. The farmers are confused by such contradictory statements issued by 2 senior ministers in the Cabinet. Monsoon is almost 60 per cent over and with no satisfactory rains this year at least the remaining period should be made good by cloud seeding.
Meanwhile, it is said that the delay is being caused due to the Central Government not yet sanctioning permission for cloud seeding. Permission of Central Aviation Department is essential for cloud seeding. The State Government has already submitted the request and it s under process say officials.
