BSY's grand plan to silence rebels: Form a separate district

Synopsis

Now, Yeddiyurappa plants a separate district to consolidate his position as undisputed leader. Frequent quarrels over differences with KS Eshwarappa has forced the leader to carve a district from taluks of neighbouring Shivamogga and Davangere His son BY Raghavendra from Ranibennur in Davangere and his close aide from Honnali MP Renukacharya will bolster his position if they win from their respective seats

Frequent quarrel with Kuruba leader KS Eshwarappa and losing control over the party due to these differences on his home turf has led  BS Yeddyurappa to make a specific plan. It starts with having a separate district where he can flex muscles and have total control over the party and rebels.

As a first step towards this grand plan, Yeddyurappa plans to field his son BY Raghavendra from Ranibennur which is now represented by Assembly speaker KB Koliwad who won by  6,000 votes. Next to Ranibennur is Honnali and BSY’s close aide and former minister MP Renukacharaya is fighting from here.

With Shikaripura, Ranibennur and Honnali all coming under his control, BSY plans to pitch this for separate district status. By this move, he wants to cause permanent heartache to the friend-turned political foe KS Eshwarappa and dent his vote bank.

"A separate district by carving out from Shivamogga and Davanagere, Yeddiyurappa will have the last laugh as the entire district will be under his control and Shikaripura will be the power center from where Yeddiyurappa will be calling shots,"  said a source.

Confirming the news of  MLA BY Raghavendra contemplating to contest from Rani Bennur and idea of pitching for the separate district to bolster BSY's position, Renukacharya said, "Yes! BY Raghavendra BSY's son is interested in contesting from Ranibennur. The idea of pitching for the separate district is still under consideration. First, we will gauge the mood of voters in this region and plan in advance to face elections," he said.
