Bribegate effect: No more idli, dosa, this is what Sasikala had

Synopsis

It looks like the then Prisons DIG Roopa's report on Sasikala's bribegate is bearing fruits Reports say Sasikala has been ripped off of special privileges including idlis and dosas Sources said that she was given Chitranna on Monday, which was prepared for all the inmates

Sasikala bribegate has surely created a furore in the Karnataka government. Not only the officers but even prisoners have had to bear the consequences. After various footages of Sasikala's kitchen were telecast in the news channels and social media reports, say that all these privileges have been withdrawn from Sasikala.

It was said that Sasikala was getting hot idlis and dosas etc. prepared in her special kitchen inside the Parappana Agrahara jail. But sources said that on Monday, she was given Chitranna (prepared for all the inmates). Thus Sasikala was given breakfast like other inmates.

But the question is will this practice be continued? Sasikala is in the news since the day Jayalalithaa was admitted to the hospital in September last year. But her stint in the Parappana Agrahara jail is questionable. She lost her first battle in the jail when the officers refused to give her VIP treatment. Thus it has been made clear that she has to be treated like any other inmate in prison.

But there have been various reports about her violating the rules as many people have been making frequent visits to the jail. But with the then Prison's DIG Roopa's report brought more shocking details including Sasikala enjoying a special kitchen, visiting room, no camera surveillance at the cost of Rs 2 crore.

Now, thanks to the report, all these privileges are again inaccessible to Sasikala. Let her eating Chitranna for breakfast be the starting point of the clean practice. Transfer of the officials is not the solution to the problem, but it should be seen that the officers are not bought by Sasikala, or any other inmates for that matter and rules should be followed.

In another such report, it is said that Sasikala is exempted from wearing white saree as a rule is applicable only for those serving more than seven years in the prison. Sasikala has been sentenced to four years jail term, and thus she is seen wearing coloured sarees and even a video of her wearing a night dress was leaked online.
