Mysuru meet: We are united, says divided, feuding Karnataka BJP

On the last day of the executive meet, BJP was trying to project a united front. Leader Eshwarappa was given an opportunity to address the gathering, but was cold-shouldered by BSY Asianet Newsable has also learnt that BJP High Command will summon Eshwarappa to New Delhi shortly

It's still apparent that all's not well between the sparring leaders - state president B S Yeddyurappa and Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, K S Eshwarappa.

Though Eshwarappa was given an opportunity to address the gathering and move the resolution on drought, he was continued to be cold-shouldered by Yeddyurappa. Even on Sunday, the duo didn't acknowledge each other, on or off the dais.

The central leadership has however ensured that both leaders will not further embarrass the party by washing dirty linen in public.

The party's national general secretaries, Ram Lal and Muralidhar Rao were entrusted with the responsibility of sending a clear message to both the leaders. Rao is expected to submit a report to the party's national president Amit Shah about the Mysuru meeting on his return to Delhi.

Party insiders said that the Eshwarappa-B L Santhosh (RSS functionary) faction had been completely silenced. Santhosh has not only been sidelined. He even faced a few embarrassing moments when he rose to address the gathering on Sunday. There were restless murmurings among the audience, forcing Yeddyurappa himself to silence them a couple of times.

It is also learnt that high command will summon Eshwarappa to New Delhi, shortly, so make sure that all differences are ironed out before the next state executive meeting which is scheduled to be held in Ballari on July 22 and 23.

Wary of bad press, the party also went to extreme lengths to ensure that there was no entry to the media inside the premises of the meeting on Sunday. Except for MP Shobha Karandlaje, no other leader was allowed to talk to the press. Karandlaje maintained that party was united and fight the elections under the leadership of Yeddyurappa.
