
Yelahanka Upanagara Police has arrested 3 employees of Aadhaar Card centre for issuing fake cards. The arrested are Mohan Kumar, owner of Aadhaar Centre at Yelahanka Upanagara 1st stage, DTP operators Srinivas M Rathod and Pradeep Kumar. Retired government employee Devaraj and another staffer Meghadutta are absconding.
Following the recent incident of Pakistani national being given Aadhaar Cards, the UIA officials were cracking down on all Aadhaar centres in the City. Finding the working of Aadhaar Card centre at Yelahanka Upanagara 1st stage suspicious the officials raided and found that fake cards were being issued. They arrested the 3 and confiscated all documents.
It was found that retired employee of Education Department Devaraj would attest all documents claiming as a Gazetted officer. Using such created documents more than 100 cards have been issued so far, the police said.
UIA Bengaluru Unit Deputy Director Ashok Lenin has lodged a police complaint with the Yelahanka Upanagara station. The police raided the centre, based on the complaint and arrested the 3. Cases have been filed under IPC Sections 420, 468, 471, rw 120 B and 109 IPC and rw Sections 34 & 42 of Aadhaar (Targeted delivery of financial and other subsidies, benefits, and services) Act 2016.
