After multiple reports of assault, molestation, and crime against women in Bengaluru, the Karnataka government has decided to introduce ‘Pink Police’ patrolling team in the city. The state Home Minister G Parameshwara announced this at the ongoing assembly session.
Following the Kerala government recent move of Pink Police Patrol to ensure women and child safety, the Karnataka government will also have 51 Pink Hoysala services in city soon.
The Home Minister while answering a question by BJP MLC Tara Anuradha stated that ensuring women safety is a priority for the state government and therefore, the government is planning to bring in Pink Police patrolling in the city.
The Pink Police patrolling vans will have three police officials and at least, one of them will be woman personnel. The state government has identified the sensitive areas where the patrolling will be done. Also, these special patrolling vehicles will have a dedicated number and soon this will be extended to other districts too.
