Five persons have died in the past ten days in Bengaluru in accidents caused by potholes, the latest being the death of a 21-year-old woman who was crushed by a lorry when trying to avoid one of those killer holes.

There has been a huge public outcry over the insensitivity shown by the BBMP in resolving the issue. They have temporarily filled the potholes and claim that a permanent solution can only be implemented after the rains are over.

However, renowned artist Baadal Nanjundaswamy, who is known for creating art highlighting social issues, has created another installation to create awareness among the public about the killer potholes and to bring the people’s plight to the notice of the authorities.

Baadal with actor Sonu Gowda painted a crater like pothole on Kamaraj Road-Cubbon Road junction. Sonu was dressed as a mermaid and was recorded playing with the water, depicting the water logged potholes all over the city.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah asked for over 15,000 potholes on Bengaluru's scarred roads to be fixed within 15 days.
