The HD Kumaraswamy Abhimani Balaga launched the Appaji Canteen - to counter the Congress' Indira Canteen - in Mandya too. The Appaji Canteens in fact were much ahead of the Indira Canteens and they were inaugurated first, reports Kannada Prabha.
The canteen is functioning from the shopping complex and MP Puttaraju inaugurated it. The canteen serves breakfast, lunch and dinner at Rs 10 and Coffee at Rs 5. Unlike Indira Canteen, the main menu here would be Ragi Mudde, the staple food of JD(S) supremo Deve Gowda.
