Five-time MP from Uttar Kannada district Ananth Kumar Hegde has emerged dark horse putting BJP probables like HN Ananth Kumar, Shobha Karandlaje and Prahlad Joshi behind to join the Narendra Modi cabinet.

Till Saturday, no BJP Parliamentarians received the call to reach Delhi indicating that they had not been inducted into the cabinet. However, Anath Kumar Hegde got a call late Saturday night, asking him to come to Delhi. It is reported that he was not told about him joining the cabinet.

Ananth Kumar Hegde is known for his hardcore right wing ideals. Recognising his loyalty to the Sangh Parivar, the party decided to award him.

Who is Ananth Kumar Hegde?

Born on May 20, 1968 at Sirsi, Anant Kumar Dattatreya Hegde was elected to the Parliament at a very young age of 28. He was elected to the 11th Lok Sabha in 1996-97 that was until then held by Congress MP Margarte Alva.

Hegde was recently in the news for assaulting three doctors on duty at Sirsi in January, 2017. It was reported that the BJP Parliamentarian was livid at the doctors of the Thotagara Seva Samiti Hospital in Sirsi for allegedly not treating his mother Lalitha Hegde on time. The doctors were performing an operation on another patient and they could not attend to the Parliamentarian's mother. This irked Hegde who was caught on camera thrashing Dr GV Madhukeshwar, Dr Balachandra Bhat and hospital staff Rahul Musharkar for making his mother wait for hours.

It is reported that the doctors were allegedly threatened by the MP from lodging a complaint against him.
