
Air Deccan that created a storm in the aviation sector of the country by introducing cheap air travel 15 years ago but eventually sold to King Fisher airlines is all set to restart its services from Dec 15, reports Kannada Prabha.
Air Deccan was the brain child of Bengaluru-based Capt GR Gopinath who wanted to provide air travel facilities at affordable prices. After he sold it to King Fisher it was changed to Simplyfly Deccan. Following the closure of King Fisher airlines, Capt Gopinath has now come up with the idea of providing air services to small towns under the Central Goverenment’s Udan Project. Under this project Air Deccan has been sanctioned license to operate in 34 routes. Air Odisha has also received licence to operate 128 routes under this project. Both the airways will start operating from Dec 15 said Union Aviation Ministry.
