Aadhaar compulsory for subsidy for pregnant women, nursing-mothers

Synopsis

Aadhaar compulsory for pregnant women and new-mothers to get subsidy. A woman gets Rs 5000 during her pregnancy and Rs 1000 after delivery. The money will be directly credited into her bank account. The Central Government has made Aadhaar compulsory to get the benefit of this scheme.

The Central Government is making Aadhaar compulsory for obtaining all government services and has now extended it to the subsidy for pregnant women and new-mothers also. The Central Government gives Rs 6000 subsidy to pregnant women and new mothers, reported Kannada Prabha.

The Union Ministry for Women and Child Welfare has implemented a scheme called Matru Vandana to help pregnant women and nursing mothers. According to this scheme a woman gets Rs 5000 during her pregnancy and Rs 1000 after delivery. The money will be directly credited into her bank account.

The Central Government has made Aadhaar compulsory to get the benefit of this scheme.
