
Sadduguntepalya police have arrested 2 men, from Kerala, who were engaged in preparing and selling Ganja oil, popularly called Hashish. Johnson Joseph (31) and Biju Abraham (38) from Kannur were arrested and 6 kg and 561 gm Hashish was seized from them, reported Kannada Prabha.
The arrested were working at rubber farms in Kerala. Preparing Ganja oil is rampant in the hilly regions of Kerala. Around 6 kg of Ganja leaves are used to prepare one kg of Hashish. It can be applied on cigarettes and consumed easily. The oil is banned narcotic.
The accused used to bring it by bus from Kerala. The local Keralites who are known to Johnson and Abraham used to purchase it from them. They in turn sold it to students and Keralites in grams, said DCP Boralingaiah. The arrested are also users of narcotics. They have been subjected to interrogation.
The police on a clue went to Tavarekere Bus stand and Peepal tree and arrested the accused, said senior police officials. Raw Ganja leaves are mixed with alcohol, grounded and then converted into liquid. One kg of Hashish costs about Rs 3 lakh.
