2 military Engineers caught taking bribe of cash, gold coins

CBI officers arrested 2 Garrison Engineers working for MES, Karwar, for taking bribe. The Garrison Engineers had demanded Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 1 lakh separately. In the first installment they had demanded each Rs 50,000 and 30 gold coins. CBI officials laid a trap and caught them red handed when accepting the bribe.

CBI officers have arrested 2 Garrison Engineers working for Military Engineering Services, Karwar, while taking bribe from a contractor for clearing pending bills of civil works. They had demanded that part of the bribe had to be given in gold coins, reported Kannada Prabha.

The arrested are Garrison Engineer J B Batt and assistant Garrison engineer R B Chouhan. A contractor had appealed to them to clear a pending bill related to civil works at MES Karwar.  

The Garrison Engineers had demanded Rs 1.5 lakhs and Rs 1 lakh separately. In the first installment they had demanded each Rs 50,000 and 30 gold coins. The contractors did not want to bribe and informed CBI officials.  Acting on his complaint the CBI officials laid a trap and caught them red handed when accepting the bribe.
