
The Parappana Agrahara Central Jail has 126 TVs provided by the authorities for the entertainment of inmates according to sources at the jail. There are over 4,500 inmates at the jail including convicts and undertrials. Every cell has a TV. Hence there is nothing special about AIADMK (AMMA) Sasikala Natarajan and stamp paper scam fame Karim Lala Telagi having TVs in their cells, reported Kannada Prabha.
In Tower 1 block of undertrials there are nine barracks. Each barrack has six to seven cells. All cells have TVs each, totalling 56 sets. In Tower 2 for convicts there are seven barracks and 50 TVs are set up one for cell each . In the hospital block every section has separate TVs totalling 20. In the VVIP block with tighter security measures there are 20 cells and TV is provided to any inmate who wishes to have TV.
