Southern Railway has announced three special trains from Bengaluru to Thiruvananthapuram North to manage the Onam 2026 rush. The services will operate from Bengaluru Cantonment, SMVT Bengaluru and Yeshwantpur via Kottayam on specified dates.

With Onam just around the corner, Southern Railway has announced three special express trains from Bengaluru to Kerala to manage the expected festival rush. The services will connect Bengaluru Cantonment, Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT) Bengaluru and Yeshwantpur with Thiruvananthapuram North. All three trains will operate via Kottayam, providing an additional travel option for passengers travelling to Kerala for the Onam celebrations. Here are the schedules, routes and other details of the special services.

1. Bengaluru Cantonment To Thiruvananthapuram North (06579/06580)

The train will depart from Bengaluru Cantonment at 4:40 pm on August 28 and arrive at Thiruvananthapuram North at 10:30 am on August 29.

For the return journey, it will depart from Thiruvananthapuram North at 12:40 pm on August 29 and arrive at Bengaluru Cantonment at 5:15 am on August 30.

The train will halt at KR Puram, Bangarapet, Kuppam, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Podanur, Palakkad, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Changanassery, Thiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikara, Karunagappalli, Sasthankotta, Kollam and Varkala.

Bookings for this service opened on August 21 at 8 am.

2. SMVT Bengaluru To Thiruvananthapuram North (06575/06576)

The service will depart from Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT) Bengaluru at 4:40 pm on August 22 and arrive at Thiruvananthapuram North at 10 am on August 23.

The return service will leave Thiruvananthapuram North at 12:40 pm on August 23 and arrive at Bengaluru Cantonment at 5:15 am on August 24.

The train will halt at Bengaluru Cantonment, KR Puram, Bangarapet, Kuppam, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Podanur, Palakkad, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Changanassery, Thiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikara, Kayamkulam, Karunagappalli, Sasthankotta, Kollam and Varkala.

Bookings for this service also opened on August 21 at 8 am.

3. Yeshwantpur To Thiruvananthapuram North (06573/06574)

The special train will depart from Yeshwantpur at 8:45 pm on August 21 and arrive at Thiruvananthapuram North at 1:30 pm on August 22.

For the return journey, the train will depart from Thiruvananthapuram North at 3:15 pm on August 22 and reach Yeshwantpur at 9:45 am on August 23.

The train will halt at Hosur, Dharmapuri, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Podanur, Palakkad, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Changanassery, Thiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikara, Kayamkulam, Karunagappalli, Sasthankotta, Kollam and Varkala.
