This Kings XI Punjab all-rounder has been ruled out of IPL 2017

Synopsis

The Australian has injured his shoulder during a practice session on Friday.  He did not play a big role for KXIP in this edition of the IPL.

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) will be without the services of Marcus Stoinis for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017. The Australian all-rounder injured himself during a practice session on Friday.

The players were going through fielding drills and Stoinis had to dive to stop a ball. It was then when he got injured. The 27-year old was retained by KXIP for this season but he did not play a major role in this campaign.

The Australian was rather poor in IPL 2017 with only 17 runs in five matches and two wickets with the ball. As a result, he could not hold on to his place in the playing XI for long and he was replaced by another overseas player.

The injury assessment has not been done yet but it will be done soon. Stoinis is also a part of Australia's 15-man squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.
