Steve Smith had said before the start of the IPL that he is not going to look for a lot of opinions. MS Dhoni was relieved off his captaincy duties by the RPS management.
MS Dhoni fans were infuriated when they got to know that he will not be leading the Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) side. RPS management appointed Steve Smith as the new skipper and that did not impress a lot of people as well.
Smith had even said ahead of the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 that he will not be seeking too many opinions from his teammates. “I have plenty of guys to talk to, but I will not seek too many opinions. Seeking too many opinions can cloud your own judgement. I want to try and stay as clear as possible. But yes, if someone sees something and feels the need to point it out to me, they are more than welcome,” Smith had said.
But during the ongoing season, we have witnessed Smith walking up to Dhoni a number of times to help him take a call on the field.
