Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) was hit by the news of the unavailability of their star all-rounder Mitchell Marsh earlier this month. They can afford to smile as they have roped in South African leggie Imran Tahir for the IPL 2017.

Surprisingly, Imran Tahir went unsold at the IPL 2017 players’ auction in February and that had raised a lot of eyebrows. Better late than never, Steve Smith-led RPS will now have two leg-spinning options in the form of Adam Zampa and Tahir in their ranks.

Tahir has represented Delhi Daredevils in the last season of the IPL. The talented spinner ahs so far featured in 20 IPL matches before this and has picked up 29 wickets.

RPS’ bowling attack looked a little weaker than the other teams. They so far had Ashok Dinda, Ishwar Pandey, Jaydev Unadkat, Adam Zampa, Ben Stokes and the injured Mitchell Marsh in their squad. Now, with the inclusion of Tahir, their attack looks much better than before.
