IPL 2017
Gujarat Lions face a major setback as they will be without a crucial player for rest of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017. The West Indian all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has been ruled out for the rest of the IPL season because of an injury.
The star all-rounder had sustained a hamstring injury back in December 2016 while his stint with the Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League. He had to be carried off from the field on a stretcher. The rehabilitation period was expected to be over but he has not recovered totally.
Therefore, Gujarat Lions will now have to find a replacement for him as soon as possible. Suresh Raina and co. has struggled in the IPL 2017 as they have just managed to win two matches out of the seven they have played.
Here are some possible replacements for Dwayne Bravo that Gujarat Lions can consider:
Irfan Pathan - The Indian all-rounder went unpicked at the IPL 2017 mini auction. He can bolster both the batting and the bowling department.
James Neesham - The New Zealand all-rounder also went unpicked during the auction. He is extremely handy both with bat and the ball.
Marlon Samuels - The West Indian hard-hitting player can also be considered as a replacement for Bravo.
