Uttarakhand's AYUSH department has set up a committee of Ayurvedic experts which will soon embark on a search for Sanjeevani Booti, a magical herb, which, according to the Ramayana, had brought a fatally wounded Laxman back to life.
"The four-member committee will begin its work from next month," state AYUSH minister Surendra Singh Negi said here yesterday.
Asserting that there is a boom in herbs market all over the world, Negi said his department intends to discover the "magical herb" believed to have life-saving virtues.
"The Dronagiri range of the Himalayas will be scoured in search of the herb, the discovery of which is bound to be difficult as even Lord Hanuman had not been able to identify it and had to uproot the entire Dronagiri mountain and bring it all the way to Ravan's Lanka," the minister said.
