Caught on camera: US nanny burns 2-year-old Indian origin boy

The nanny has been arrested. She has been charges with assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

In a shocking incident, security camera footage caught a nanny burning an Indian-origin two-year-old boy with a curling iron in Baldwin, New York, USA. The incident occurred in the absence of the parents, both of whom work. The nanny has been arrested, and according to reports, she has admitted that she attacked the child.  

Angela Persaud, the mother of the 2-year-old, first notices the burn marks on his hands and feet. She then checked security cameras installed in the home, only to discover the horrifying footage. 

Following Angela's complaint to the police, the nanny, named Nasipho Nxumalo, was arrested. As per reports, the 21-year-old nanny has been charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child. In court, she admitted to the charges and said, "The child wouldn't listen. I wanted to discipline him using the iron, so I burned him."

About the nature of the injuries, the mother has been quoted by WABC as saying "It's a little superficial burn now. But it was welted on Thursday." 

Also, about the video footage, Angela said, "She heated it up. You see her showing him that it's going to be hot. You see here yelling at him - 'I'm going to use it on you.' Then you see her grab him a few times."
