Synopsis

The Uttar Pradesh Assembly Secretariat revoked the suspension of SP MLA Sachin Yadav. His suspension ended automatically with the conclusion of the Monsoon Session, as per rules. He was suspended for protesting with placards during the session.

The Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Secretariat has officially revoked the suspension of Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Sachin Yadav from Jasrana, following the adjournment sine die (prorogation) of the House's third session of 2026. The decision was formally communicated in an official order issued by Principal Secretary Pradeep Kumar Dubey on August 24.

Suspension Ends Automatically with Session Prorogation

Principal Secretary informed MLA Sachin Yadav that his suspension ended automatically due to the conclusion of the Assembly's Monsoon Session.

The revocation was executed under the proviso to Rule 299 (3)(b) of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, 2023.

Reason for the Initial Suspension

Yadav had initially been suspended on August 4, 2026, under Rule 299(1) for the remainder of the session after protesting in the House, displaying placards and a Ram Lalla photograph to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and failing to adhere to Speaker Satish Mahana's directions.

Disregarding Speaker Satish Mahana's instructions during Question Hour, Yadav held up placards and a Ram Lalla photograph to press for an immediate discussion on the Ayodhya issue.

Mahana noted that while the Chair was ready to grant time for discussion on Ayodhya, opposition members arrived intent on stalling proceedings rather than engaging in debate. (ANI)
