A police officer arrived at the residence of Giribala Singh, mother-in-law of deceased Twisha Sharma, in Bhopal on Saturday and said he had come to serve a High Court notice in connection with the case.
Speaking to reporters outside the residence, the officer said, "I have brought a High Court notice." When asked whether the notice was for Giribala Singh, he replied, "Yes."
Later, while leaving the residence after giving her (Giribala Singh) a notice, the Police officer told reporters, "This was a High Court notice. My senior officers will tell you more."
Meanwhile, Siddharth Singh, brother of the prime accused Samarth Singh, Twisha Sharma's husband, and an accused in the case, was seen leaving the residence along with a team of lawyers.
The development comes amid the ongoing investigation into the Twisha Sharma death case, in which the Madhya Pradesh government has already recommended a CBI probe.
Earlier on Friday, the prime accused in the death case of 33-year-old Twisha Sharma, her husband Samarth Singh, was taken into police custody and will be produced before a court within 24 hours, police said.
"He (accused Samarth Singh) has been taken into custody, and our police team is handling this entire process. We have to produce him before the court within twenty-four hours. So we will produce him within the given time," Bhopal Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar told ANI.
Meanwhile, the Madhya Pradesh High Court on Friday also issued a notice to pleas filed by the father of Twisha Sharma and the State government opposing the anticipatory bail granted by a lower court to Giribala Singh, the mother-in-law of the 33-year-old woman who was found dead in her Bhopal matrimonial house on May 12.
Advocate Ankur Pandey, counsel for the family of Twisha Sharma, said that the next hearing into the matter would be conducted on May 25.
Twisha Sharma, a resident of Noida, married Bhopal resident Samarth Singh in December 2025. Following her death on May 12, her family alleged mental torture and dowry harassment by her husband and in-laws. (ANI)
