Tamil Nadu man files police complaint against Google Maps for causing marriage problems

Synopsis

The owner of a fancy store in Mayiladuthurai in Nagapattinam district of Tamil Nadu has filed a complaint with the police seeking action against the technology giant Google Maps for “causing trouble” in his family life

According to reports, a 49-year-old man has filed a police complaint against Google Maps for creating problems in his marriage.

R Chandrasekharan from Tamil Nadu's Nagapattinam has said that he keeps getting into trouble with his wife as Google Maps shows him at places where he actually wasn't.

It is  reported that Chandrasekharan's wife scans the 'Your Timeline' feature and questions him about places it shows him at, where he denies being.

He added that he would even take the tech giant to court over the matter.

“I don’t remember sharing my mobile phone with my wife in recent times. But, she has been accessing my timeline via Google Maps. It shows places I have not visited. She is going to those places to check why I went there. She is constantly abusing me and my peace of mind is ruined. I demand that action be taken against Google for presenting a false timeline,” Chandrasekar said.
