
Virudhunagar: Major blast has killed 8 in TamilNadu's Virudhunagar. Six women and an unidentified body were found charred to death on the spot. Another man succumbed to death in the hospital.
Ten others are undergoing treatment in Tamil Nadu's Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, and Kovilpatti.
According to sources, it has been alleged that a mishap during the illegal production of firecrackers caused the accident. According to local sources, the deceased was identified as Rani (42), Jeyabharathi (45), Bhathrakali (33), Veluthai (34), Thamaraiselvi (32) and Thangammal (39) died on the spot, a severely injured Murugaiah (55), who was taken to Kovilapatti Government Hospital, succumbed to injuries.
