‘I hit him 25 times with slipper’ Shiv Sena MP says after hitting AI staff

Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad allegedly hit a staff member of Air India with his slippers over seating issues, the Air India spokesperson confirmed. The airline has constituted a team to probe into the matter. 

 

The MP from Osmanabad also admitted hitting the staff member and stated that “Haan maine usko maara tha,usne badtameezi ki thi (Yes, I beat him, he misbehaved with me).” Defending his action, Gaikwad, said that, “Yes, I had hit the staff. Do you expect me to hear their abuses quietly?” Despite his act, the MP remained defiant.

 

According to reports, Gaikwad alleged that he booked a business class ticket but was given an economy class seat and when he raised the issue with the flight staff they did not pay heed to his concern. 

 

“We have constituted a committee to look into the action we can take against the MP,” AI spokesperson said.

 

Meanwhile, the staff member stated that “R.Gaikwad hit me, used bad words & not only broke my specs but humiliated me in front of the whole crew” ANI quoted him as saying. On his complaint letter, he wrote that “God save our country if this is the culture & behavior of our MPs.”
