
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Saturday participated in the 'Hindi Journalism Bicentennial Festival' in the national capital.
"On the occasion of Hindi Journalism Day, I congratulate all of you. Hindi journalism has made a significant contribution in our country... Today, on this day, we all pay homage to the stalwarts of Hindi journalism...," he told media.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said journalism acts like a mirror, solves people's problems, and gives direction to society.
"Today is Hindi Journalism Day... Journalism acts like a mirror, solves people's problems, and gives direction to society. I believe that we should take an oath for development and how we can achieve Viksit Bharat@2047...," Sharma said.
On the occasion, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also extended his greetings to journalists, writers and enlightened individuals dedicated to the Hindi language.
In a post on X, Birla said that Hindi journalism has served as a powerful medium for awakening social consciousness, strengthening democracy and expressing the sentiments of the people.

Today, Hindi is no longer confined to newspapers and television; rather, it is effectively reaching millions through digital media, social media, computers, the internet, and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence. The increasing acceptance of news, opinions, and analysis in Hindi reflects the language's strength and vast reach. On Hindi Journalism Day, we reaffirm our commitment to nurturing the Hindi language and fortifying democratic values," he said.
Union Minister of State Bhagirath Choudhary said, "We have a double-engine government and our PM Modi believes in 'Sabka saath sabka vikas'... It is not like that only Rajasthan has the BJP government; it is there all over the country. We get funds from the centre for development... Everything has gotten better... The country can only develop when all the states develop..."
Hindi Journalism Day is celebrated every year on May 30 to commemorate the beginning of journalism in Hindi. It marks the publication of 'Udant Martand', the first Hindi newspaper in India, which was launched on 30 May 1826 from Kolkata. (ANI)
