Gaya road rage: Rocky Yadav, son of JD (U) lawmaker arrested

Synopsis

Son of the Janata Dal (United) (JD (U)) lawmaker Rakesh Ranjan Yadav, who had allegedly shot dead a 20-year-old youth in Gaya for overtaking his vehicle, has been arrested today. Rakesh Yadav alias Rocky was arrested from Bodh Gaya

 

Son of JD (U) MLC Manorama Devi has been absconding since the incident took place on the night of May 7. Aditya Sachdev, the 20-year-old was allegedly shot dead by Rocky for overtaking his SUV. Sachdev who was driving along with his four friends were also allegedly beaten. 

 

Earlier the police had arrested Rakesh Rajan’s father Bindeshwari Prasad Yadav and a security guard Rajesh Kumar on the same day. Rakesh Ranjan alias Rocky’s father has been sent to 14-day custody yesterday for helping his son to escape by a local court.

 

Following the road rage incident, Manorama was also questioned and her house was raided yesterday to find about his absconding son.

 

BJP, the opposition party had called for a shutdown yesterday to protest against the killing. Shops and business remained shut yesterday due to the bandh.
