RGI Airport employee dies after being dragged by car for 2 kilometres

The shirt of the victim, Kommu Yadaiah, was reportedly stuck in the car and he was dragged for quite some distance. However, it was not clear if he was alive before he was dragged. The cab driver noticed Yadaiah once he reached the check post and by then Yadaiah was dead.   

Hyderabad: A cargo assistant at the Rajiv Gandhi International (RGI) Airport was killed after he was dragged by a car for at least two kilometres on Tuesday (September 24). The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Kommu Yadaiah, a native of Nandipally village in Maheswaram Mandal.

According to sources, the deceased was returning home on his bike after completing his work from the airport and was not wearing a helmet, but it was tagged on his motorcycle. Police suspect that due to heavy rain, Yadaiah might have grounded on his own while driving or some other vehicle might have hit his bike and fled. His body was found two kilometres away from his bike. 

Reports also say that Yadaiah’s shirt reportedly got stuck in the car and he was dragged for quite some distance. However, it was not clear if he was alive before he was dragged. The cab driver noticed Yadaiah once he reached the check post and by then Yadaiah was dead. 

Soon the cab driver alerted the police and officials are checking CCTV footage to find the cause of death.  The police sent have sent the body to Osmania hospital for post-mortem as the victim’s body had several injuries. A case was filed under Section 304 (A) (causing death by negligence) and further investigation is on.
