Rajnath Singh's visit to Pakistan on despite threats from militants

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s planned trip to Pakistan to attend a SAARC meet is on despite threats by Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) terror group.

According to an NDTV report, HM chief Syed Salahuddin at a rally yesterday threatened to stop the Indian Home Minister visit on August 3 and 4 to Islamabad, where the minister is going to attend a meeting of SAARC home ministers.

The militant chief also warned the Pakistan government for allowing the Indian minister on Pakistan soil, who according to him is “responsible for deploying soldiers in Kashmir to shed the blood of innocents."

The Pakistan government has not made any official reaction to such threats.

Separately, radical group leader of Jamaat Ud Dawa (JuD) Hafeez Saeed threatened to launch a nationwide protest if Singh is allowed in Islamabad. Saeed is against Singh’s visit as he is “responsible for the killings of innocent Kashmiris” and such allowing Singh in Pakistan will hurt the sentiments of Kashmiris.

The visit is being interpreted as India’s willingness to talk despite freezing of ties with Pakistan in recent months over Pathankot terror attack and Kashmir violence.

Tension flared up in Kashmir after Hizb militant Burhan Wani was killed on July 8 and Pakistani leadership has tried to exploit the situation by making provocative statements.
