Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief and Uttar Pradesh Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the Samajwadi Party (SP), accusing its supporters of being the primary perpetrators of atrocities against Dalits across the state.
Taking to X, Rajbhar took a swipe at the SP's 'PDA' (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) slogan, mockingly redefining it to claim it represents violence against Dalits by specific communities. "What did you think, Om Prakash Rajbhar forgot? Won't PDA, meaning 'Ahir Will Beat' and 'Minority Will Beat' (SP), release its second installment? Won't it publicly expose the atrocities by SP Yadavs and SP Muslims on Dalits, zone by zone and commissionerate by zone? That is your misconception," Rajbhar posted.
The SBSP chief cited purported UP Police data to claim that members of the Yadav and Muslim communities are involved in the majority of cases involving Dalit oppression. "If you know how to read and write, then stare hard and read the UP Police report. In every police zone and police commissionerate across the entire state, when it comes to cases of atrocities on Dalits and the exploited, it's you lot who are involved the most. Starting right from Gorakhpur," he said.
Targeting SP President Akhilesh Yadav, Rajbhar added, "Yesterday, your 'big brother from abroad' Akhilesh Yadav was sitting in AC and doing a press conference, saying that Gorakhpur has the highest atrocities on Dalits. That's why it's the highest--because here too, your major unruly and criminal-minded loaders' misdeeds are screaming the loudest."
Rajbhar went on to list specific figures from various police zones to back his allegations: "In Gorakhpur zone, a total of 760 cases have been registered--the ones behind them the most were 297 Yadavs and 344 Muslims. In Varanasi zone, in 603 cases, Dalit oppression charges were filed against 650 Yadavs and 178 Muslims. Similarly, in Agra zone, names of 85 Yadavs and 93 Muslims have come up in 287 cases. In Kanpur zone, 166 Yadavs and 57 Muslim goons were found involved in 334 cases," he claimed.
He further alleged high involvement in urban commissionerates, stating, "In Lucknow, out of 1094 cases, 410 Yadavs and 428 Muslims were found involved. In Prayagraj, in 126 cases, 91 Yadavs and 39 Muslims... These are all the ones who've unleashed untold cruelty on Dalits."
The Minister concluded by stating that the state police are taking strict action against the accused. "UP Police is giving them proper treatment, by the book. No shortfall in service and hospitality--don't you worry about that. Sad, but the truth is, your people's behavior can never change toward non-Yadav backward society and Dalit brothers. Because the atrocities have seeped deep into your thinking," Rajbhar added.
The political temperature in Uttar Pradesh rose sharply on Wednesday after Rajbhar claimed that a "major political realignment" was underway within the Samajwadi Party (SP), triggering a war of words between the ruling alliance and the opposition ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.
He asserted that political developments in Uttar Pradesh have now taken centre stage ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. The State Minister alleged that individuals join political parties based on personal interest, while making a pointed remark on alleged outreach involving Samajwadi Party leaders.(ANI)
