Synopsis

Addressing the 19th Rozgar Mela, PM Modi urged 51,000+ new recruits to be lifelong 'Karmayogi' with sensitivity. He highlighted the 'iGOT Karmayogi' platform for training and linked job creation to India's infrastructure revolution.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi called upon newly appointed government personnel to approach public service with a deep sense of sensitivity, high work ethics, and exemplary behaviour, urged every young professional to view themselves as a lifelong "Karmayogi."

A Call for Continuous Learning and Service

Addressing the gathering at the 19th edition of the Rozgar Mela, PM Modi said that government positions are fundamentally a mechanism to make the lives of ordinary citizens easier. "Amidst this campaign of policies and decisions, you must remember one more thing. The true strength of any system is its people... Government jobs are a means to make people's lives easier. Whatever department you work in, your behaviour, sensitivity, and work ethic will be of great importance. Therefore, every young 'Karmayogi' should see their work as ongoing," he said.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister highlighted the significance of the "iGOT Karmayogi" digital platform. He specifically directed the recruits to utilise targeted training modules like "Karmayogi Prarambh" to properly comprehend their roles and execute citizen-centric policies effectively. "Today, the aspirations of the people of India are rising rapidly, and I consider this a positive sign of development. We have to understand the aspirations of our people and work accordingly at an equally fast pace. In such a situation, the role of young people entering public service has become very important. You have to keep learning continuously. In this, you will get a great deal of help from the 'iGOT Karmayogi' platform. Modules like 'Karmayogi Prarambh' will be very helpful to you for understanding your responsibilities," PM Modi said.

Infrastructure Revolution Driving Job Creation

The Prime Minister reflected on India's growth story and job creation, stating that it remains deeply anchored in its sweeping infrastructure revolution. "It is well-known that in India's growth story and employment generation, infrastructure plays a huge role. When villages, small towns, and remote areas are connected to development, only then can the benefits of the country's progress reach more people. In the last 12 years, railways, highways, airports, logistics, ports, and digital infrastructure have expanded at an unimaginable pace, and development has taken place, and work has been done at every level," he said.

The Prime Minister further explained that the arrival of modern roads has streamlined transport to major markets, while consistent electricity has triggered the growth of small-scale local industries and added significant commercial value to rural agriculture. He asserted that widespread digital connectivity has allowed rural citizens to interface seamlessly with global markets.

"These changes are affecting not just ordinary citizens. It is not limited to facilities. When roads reached the village, commuting to the market became easier. When electricity facilities improved, small industries started growing, and value addition started happening in agriculture in the village as well. As the digital connectivity increased, the people of the village are also getting connected with the whole world. The difference between city and village is getting erased and this has accelerated the pace of the economy, and the positive effect of all this becomes a guarantee of a bright future for the youth of the country. Not only are jobs created, but the nation also moves ahead with a new self-respect," he said.
