PM Modi likely to meet US Vice President Kamala Harris, Apple CEO Tim Cook during US tour

According to sources, PM Modi and President Biden are scheduled to address Afghanistan, COVID-19, climate change, the Indo-Pacific, and terrorism, among other topics.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to go to the United States later this month for a three-day visit to meet President Joe Biden and other administration officials at a critical moment in Afghanistan when the Taliban is forming a government. PM Modi will arrive in Washington, DC, on September 22 and meet with top US CEOs the following morning. A meeting with Apple CEO Tim Cook is also on the agenda. PM Modi would be meeting US Vice President Kamala Harris after back-to-back talks with senior US business leaders. PM will meet with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and his Japanese colleague Yoshihide Suga on the same day.

PM Modi and President Biden are scheduled to address various issues including, Afghanistan, Covid-19, climate change, the Indo-Pacific, and terrorism. The visit also coincides with the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the United States. According to reports, PM Modi's tour would begin with a bilateral meeting with President Joe Biden in Washington on September 23, while a scheduling team will arrive in the US on September 9. PM Modi will subsequently deliver a speech to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on September 25 before returning to India. After a trip to Bangladesh in March, this is his first overseas trip. During PM Modi's visit, a dinner will be held. Interestingly, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson's tour coincides with PM Modi's travel to Washington, so there's a chance they'll meet. PM Modi would fly to New York on September 24th evening, where he would give a speech to the United Nations General Assembly the following day.
