Sushma Swaraj tweeted pilot Arunaksha Nandy died in the incident on Sunday even as two doctors were seriously injured and admitted to an intensive care unit in a Bangkok hospital. A nurse and another pilot too were reportedly on the flight.

 

The air ambulance is Medanta’s initiative in its patient rescue service. ‘Flying Doctors India’ is one of its exclusive endeavours. This initiative is at par with the best in the world, aimed to provide people with emergency medical care and delivering time saving solutions across the globe.

The Pilatus PC 12 (VT-AVG) plane was hired by hospital to pick-up a patient, who was suffering from lung problem, from Bangkok. The plane flew from New Delhi at 8.42 am on Sunday.The plane, having two pilots, took a refuelling stop in Kolkata en route to Bangkok. It crash-landed at Nakhon Pathom airport about 730 km from Bangkok on Sunday afternoon. The aircraft is a single engine turboprop passenger and cargo aircraft.
