Synopsis
Sentenced to death for the horrifying rape and murder of a student in a moving bus in Delhi in December 2012, convict Vinay Sharma attempted suicide in Tihar jail.
Sharma swallowed pills to end his life. Sharma had demanded more security claiming that he was beaten up by other inmates the previous year.
23-year-old medical student Jyothi was brutally raped and beaten up by the six assailants which shook the entire nation.
Six men including one minor were found guilty of gang-rape and murder.
According to reports, driver of the bus Ram Singh was found hanging in Tihar jail in March 2013.
