The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday conducted searches at five locations in five states in connection with the ongoing investigation into the 2025 Gujarat cyber terrorism attack case during 'Operation Sindoor'.
The searches were carried out in Junnar (Pune, Maharashtra), Nadiad (Kheda, Gujarat), Ramagundam (Karimnagar, Telangana), Gopalganj (Bihar) and Delhi, in connection with the ongoing investigation into the case (RC-01/2025/NIA/AMD) registered on June 25, 2025.
As per the NIA, the accused in the case had attempted "sophisticated DDoS attacks against 54 websites of Central government entities, targeting critical computer resources and Critical Information Infrastructure (CII) during the period of Operation Sindoor, with intent to compromise national sovereignty, security and unity, and to incite public fear."
Two accused have already been arrested in the case. The case was originally registered by the Gujarat Anti Terrorist Squad.
During the course of the investigation, the NIA said suspects who provided support and assistance to the accused in the preparation and skill upgradation for carrying out the DDoS attacks were identified through thorough technical analysis.
The searches were conducted on Monday morning at the premises after search warrants were issued by the competent court. During the searches, the agency said various digital devices and documents containing incriminating material related to hacking activities were seized, and the suspects were examined regarding their association with the arrested accused.
A total of three laptops, five mobile phones and other digital devices, including pen drives, were seized following due procedure. (ANI)
