NIA nabs alleged Lashkar recruiter in Karnataka

Synopsis

 The NIA has accused him of being a part of the social media groups run by Pakistan-based handlers to radicalize and recruit vulnerable youthfor sleeper cells of the LeT and for furthering terrorist activities.  

National investigation agency has arrested a suspected Lashkar-e-Tayiba terrorist from Karnataka in connection with the terror recruitment case.

The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Sayyad M Idris, was arrested from Uttara Kannada dsitrict.

The NIA has accused him of being a part of the social media groups run by Pakistan-based handlers to radicalize and recruit vulnerable youthfor sleeper cells of the LeT and for furthering terrorist activities.

The agency is now taking him on transit remand to Kolkata where he will be questioned along with other suspects nabbed from the city in connection with the LeT recruitment case.
