Recently, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi topped the online reader’s poll of the Time magazine for the category of ‘Person of the Year.’ Now he has entered Forbes’ list of ‘Most Powerful People in the World’ alongside names like Russian President Vladimir Putin, US President Elect Donald Trump and others.
Modi has had his influence on India ever since he became the Prime Minister and with his latest surgical strike on the black money of the nation (Demonetisation), he was hogging most of the limelight.
Modi ranks 9th in Forbes’ list of the ‘World’s 74 most Powerful People’ and that is not really surprising. The way he raised his profile globally is pretty incredible. He also played a huge role in Paris when international efforts were being put to tackle climate change.
The other Indians, who have made it to the list, are the Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani and the CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadela. The gas tycoon is ranked 38th in the list while the Indian-born Microsoft CEO stands in the 51st position.
Facebook Chief Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Chancellor of Germany and the backbone of the European Union, Angela Merkel and Pope Francis features in the top 10 of the list.
