Mumbai Police register fresh case against Republic TV chief Arnab Goswami

Mumbai: In the latest development, Mumbai Police registered a fresh case against Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami under IPC section 353 for deterring a public servant from performing his duty.

Goswami was arrested from his Mumbai residence on reportedly on abetment of suicide case. The Maharashtra government had on May 28 said that the case will be re-investigated by the state CID.

Over a dozen police personnel manhandled Arnab Goswami and as many as 10 police personnel entered the residence of Arnab Goswami on Wednesday.

During the arrest Republicworld.com quoted Arnab saying, “They assaulted me, and they did not let me meet my family. They did not let me meet my father-in-law, my mother-in-law, they beat up my son. They physically assaulted me in my own residence. I want the justice system of the country to see, people of India, fight for me.”
