This election marks Shah's bid for a second term from the Gandhinagar seat, a constituency previously represented by BJP stalwart Lal Krishna Advani. Notably, Shah had clinched victory in the 2019 election with a staggering margin exceeding 5.57 lakh votes.

Gandhinagar has seen significant political figures in the past, including former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who won the seat in 1996, although he chose to retain the Lucknow seat in Uttar Pradesh.

The polling for 25 out of the 26 Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat was conducted in a single phase on May 7, indicating a substantial turnout in the electoral process.

With Amit Shah's triumphant win in Gandhinagar and the BJP's stronghold evident in Gujarat, the party seems poised to secure a sweeping victory in the state once again, reaffirming its dominance in the region.
