
A leopard cub that was found roaming the woods with its mother in Bengaluru outskirts a few days ago was found dead. The incident occurred at Mahantalingapura near Jigni Industrial area in Kallubalu Grama Panchayat limits.
Few days ago, two healthy cubs along with their mother were captured on a drone camera by forest officials near Krishna Doddi, close to Bannerghatta National Park.
It appears that the leopard cub may have been hit by a moving vehicle in the area during the night, when animals usually venture out to hunt.

As per sources, it appears as though the cub may be five to six months old.
Incidents of animals being hit by moving vehicles in these surroundings was not reported during lockdown given that there was hardly any movement of people. However, poachers were seen venturing into the forest at night during the lockdown period.
A case of animal death has been registered and the body has been sent for autopsy by animal biologists.
