Thiruvananthapuram: Fathimath Shahala, the four-year-old daughter of Abdul Hameed and Ayishath Mishara of Kasaragod, Dharmathadukka, finally gets to travel to Chennai for her due treatment for cancer. She has cancer in her eyes and her treatment was progressing in Shankara Nethralaya when the lockdown made her travel impossible. She had to reach the eye hospital as soon as possible to undergo chemotherapy and emergency operation.
Her parents were troubled to learn that her treatment may be affected as they were unable to find means to travel to Chennai. That was when the intervention from the State Youth Commission took place. The commission member K Manikandan learnt about the situation and informed the chairperson Chintha Jerome who later decided to send her an ambulance on the Youth Commission's behalf.
The case of Fathimath Shahala was then attended to, as she was included in the 'We Care ' plan of the State Social Security Mission. The ambulance departed from Kasaragod carrying her this morning.
