Synopsis

The Idukki fast-track POCSO court on Saturday (July 22) awarded capital punishment to accused Sunilkumar, who brutally struck with a hammer on the head of a six-year-old boy and later sexually assaulting his 14-year-old sister

Idukki: In a horrific event that happened in Anchal, Idukki last year, a six-year-old child died after being hit in the head with a hammer, and his sister was molested. The Idukki fast-track POCSO court has finally imposed the death penalty on the accused Sunilkumar charged with committing this horrible act. Sunilkumar, also known as Shaan, is married to the mother's sister of the slain child.

On charges of murdering the child, the death penalty was handed down. The culprit was sentenced to life in prison followed by the execution of his sentence for sexually assaulting the boy's 14-year-old sister. Other cases have resulted in life sentences that can last up to 92 years.

In September of last year, a hammer was used by Sunilkumar to brutally murder the six-year-old who was asleep in the house. The grandmother and mother of the child were also attacked. This was followed by the rape of the child's 14-year-old sibling.
