
Bengaluru: Karnataka government has decided to reopen all the medical colleges affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) in the state from December 1 onwards.
Medical, dental, AYUSH, paramedical, nursing, and pharmacy colleges affiliated to RGUHS would be reopened from next month by following SOPs issued by the government.
K Sudhakar, Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education, Karnataka made the announcement on his Twitter handle.

The minister wrote, “Karnataka Government has decided to reopen all the medical, dental, AYUSH, paramedical, nursing and pharmacy colleges affiliated to RGUHS from 1st December. I request the administration of colleges & students 2 strictly adhere to the guidelines issued by the government.”
K Sudhakar has urged the Governing Councils of the colleges and the students to comply with the guidelines already published.
The department of higher education has formulated SOPs (standardized operating procedures) as per the UGC guidelines.
Meanwhile, other colleges in the state would reopen after Diwali from November 17 onwards.
Degree colleges, engineering colleges, and diploma colleges will be opened next week. Students will have to come before classes resume and register themselves. Depending on the number of students attending, class strength and batches will be decided. Students will need parents' consent for attending physical classes.
