Colleges were directed not to put their results on notice boards so as to not give students a reason to flock to campuses amid the coronavirus lockdown
Bengaluru: Department of Pre-University Education in Karnataka declared the results of first year pre-university exams on Tuesday. To obtain results, students can log on to result.bspucpa.com and will have to provide their registration number and date of birth.
“The results of first year pre-university examinations will be announced on May 5. The results will be sent directly to students. Hence, colleges will not display the results (on campus),” said S Suresh Kumar, primary and secondary education minister on Monday.
For students unable to qualify, a supplementary exam will be held. The dates and other details regarding the same will be notified later, on the official website.
Previously, results of the first year Pre-University examinations were slated to be released on March 27, 2020, but it was postponed following the nationwide lockdown due to coronavirus pandemic.
The pre-university course is a two-year programme including class 11 and class 12 called PUC I and PUC II. It is based on the PUC score that candidates can obtain admission to universities.
As per the new guidelines from the UGC (University Grants Commission), the academic session for 2020-21 will start from September 2020.
