Karnataka: Man quits government job to pursue farming, now provides employment

Synopsis

Here is a story of a man who quit government hob to pursue farming and is currently an employer who has offered jobs to villagers in Karnataka

Kalaburagi (Karnataka): A government worker from Karnataka gave up his job to go back to mother nature. Following his passion, a former constable Sharanagouda Patil has turned into a farmer at Kalaburagi in Karnataka.

32-year-old  Patil also runs an oil mill at Nandikoor village in Kalaburagi.

Patil holds a post-graduation in arts. He was selected as a constable after he passed the necessary exams. But after working in the government office for some years, he wanted to return to his hometown and work with nature.

Thus, he quit his job in 2014. Initially, he started an oil mill and started extracting cooking oil organically. Then he also started a business as a floriculturist.

"I worked as a constable for three years in Bengaluru, but then I lost interest and I quit my job in 2014. Then I started pursuing farming. I also produce organic oil for everyone and I am getting good marketing response for both farming and oil mill business. I earn double the income now as compared to my previous job," said Patil.

"I feel so peaceful when I work for myself and others as well; life is good. I would like to convey a message to the youth that they should not get upset in case they do not get a job. They should opt for a job or business that makes them happy," he added.

Villagers too vouch for Patil and one of the villagers, Pawan Kumar ,is all praises for the man who chose to come back to the villageand show them how to make profits by working with nature.

"He first tried growing flowers on a one-acre land, which bloomed successfully. A lot of farmers were encouraged by Patil and even they started flower farming. Patil also runs an oil mill business. He produces two kinds of oils, which are absolutely pure and chemical-free. People run behind a government job but Patil has set a unique example by leaving his job and pursuing farming," said Pawan.

In his village, Nandikoor, Patil is not only a true inspiration for other farmers and youth in the village, but has also provided them with employment opportunities.
