
Bengaluru: B Sriramulu, health minister of Karnataka, tested positive for coronavirus. The minister took to Twitter to announce the news.
"I have had the opportunity to visit the 30 districts and work with the government's desire to treat people well. It is in this backdrop that I am going to be hospitalised and treated," he said in Kannada in a series of tweets.

"All those who have been in contact with me recently have been requested to take precautionary measures," he said.
Karnataka reported 7,178 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, which is the state's biggest single-day spike so far.
Breaching the 7,000-mark indicates the deteriorating situation of the health crisis in the southern state.
The overall tally now stands at 1,72,101 cases, of which nearly 79,765 are active.
