Karnataka Budget 2023 Updates: Taxi and auto stands to be constructed in Shankarnag's name

• Rs 100 crore will be allocated for basic facilities for tourists near Anjanadri Hill of Koppal district, that is considered as the birthplace of Sri Anajaneya
• A majestic Ram temple will be constructed at Ramadevara Betta in Ramanagar
• Rope way at Nandi Hills will be completed under the PPP model

• Karnataka Olympic Dream Project Fund of Rs 50 crore for training and equipment to ensure Olympic medals for athletes of the state
• New scheme of 'Badukuva Daari' for youth will be implemented who could not continue education after school. Rs 1,500 monthly stipend for three months for Job Oriented Course
• Outdoor gyms at a cost of Rs 100 crore at district and taluk stadiums

The state government is all set to construct one well-equipped sports court in every gram panchayat limits under the MNREGA at a cost of Rs 5 crore to train youngsters in sports and rural sports.

CM Bommai, in his Budget speech, says that it is proposed to establish a state-of-the-art Start-Up Park near Kempegowda International Airport at a cost of Rs 30 crore.

Development of airports, railway lines, suburban railway stations, ports, NHs, multi-modal logistic parks and other infrastructure development projects have been taken up in the state at a cost of Rs 69,031 crore.

In his Budget speech, CM Bommai says that the capital investment estimate for 2023-24 is 30.4 percent higher than that for the previous year.

Rs 300 crore will be set aside for the reconstruction of roads in need of repair in 110 villages included in the BBMP limit.

CM Bommai announced that the Department of Women and Child Development will be bifurcated into the Department of Child Nutrition and Department of Women Empowerment.

A government degree college and a polytechnic from each district having the highest attendance will be developed as Athyuttama Unnata Shikshana Samsthe by providing Rs 2 crore per institution.

• Screening camps to detect breast, oral and cervical cancer. Rs 12 crore to purchase equipment required for the detection of cancer
• A hospital on the lines of AIIMS will be established in Raichur.
• Automatic and centralised blood bank management system at a cost of Rs 5 crore at Bengaluru Medical College and Research Institute
• First public hospital in India dedicated to organ transplant to come up at NIMHANS at a cost of Rs 146 crore

Under 'Halli Muthu' scheme, 500 excellent students who have studied in rural government Kannada schools and are selected for professional courses, the entire fee will be borne by Karnataka Examination Authority

In his budget speech, CM Bommai announced the CM Vidya Shakti Scheme for students.

• A total of Rs 25,000 crore has been allocated for irrigation this year. A total grant of Rs 39,031 crore is provided for agriculture and allied sectors.
• 138 surface irrigation projects at Yadgir and Kalaburagi at a cost of Rs 443 crore
• Rs 5,000 crore to be provided for land acquisition for Upper Krishna Project
• State government to allocate Rs 1,000 crore for the controversial Kalasa-Banduri project to commence the works. This will help the state use 3.9 TMC Mahadayi water allocated by the Central Water Commission.
• First phase of the Yettinahole project is complete. In 2023-24, the water will be supplied to the Tumakuru district

Professional Tax exemption limit raised from Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000 per month to help lower middle class

• To prevent violence against animals, 5 crore for the animal welfare board
• Scheme of Rs 5 crore to develop Mudhol Hound breed, dog enthusiasts to be encouraged to adopt them
• New varieties of Sandalwood to be distributed to farmers
• Sericulture to be extended by 10,000 acres
• Rs 75 crore for high-tech sericulture market at Shidlaghatta

In his budget, CM Bommai announced Rs 425 crore for renovation of temples and mutts by Hindu religious charitable endowed department. Another Rs 1,000 crore will be allocated in the next 2 years for the same purpose.

While presenting the budget, CM Bommai said 250 "She Toilets" will be constructed in heavily populated markets, mega commercial complexes in Bengaluru.

• Interest-free loans for farmers will increase from Rs. 3 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh
• CM Bommai announces new scheme "Bhoo Siri". Set to benefit 50 lakh farmers
• Jeevan Jyothi Insurance scheme for farmers and families at Rs 150 crore
• 300 high-tech harvesters for farmers. In 2023, 50 crore for the scheme to procure 100 harvesters
• Rs 10 lakh investment per Farmer Produce Organisations
• Jala Nidhi, a new scheme to improve groundwater, will be taken up under NREGA

CM Bommai said that tax revenue in the state grew by 20% this year. The revenue deficit is around Rs 8200 crore in 2022-23.

Presenting the budget, CM Bommai said, "Farmers will be given loans at zero interest rates. Rs 3 lakh loan was given earlier. Now the loan amount has been increased to Rs 5 lakhs. Apart from this, Rs 175 crores have been granted for preservation and storage of crops."

CM Bommai said that traffic congestion will be reduced by constructing 5km of elevated road at cost of Rs 350 crore from Tin factory to Medahalli, Yeshwanthpur to Mathikere and BEL road.

CM Bommai begins by thanking Centre for allocating funds for the Upper Bhadra project and other railway projects in the state.

Senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah has come to the Vidhana Soudha with a flower on his ear. "This is symbolic of how the budget means to cheat the people of the state," Siddaramaiah said.

Finance department officials hand over the Budget copy to CM Basavaraja Bommai

CM Bommai will present the budget for the year 2023-24 at 10.15 am today. This is his second budget.

Ministers and MLAs arrived to greet CM Bommai on the background of budget presentation. Minister Bairati Basavaraj and MLA Ramdas who arrived at the CM's residence in RT Nagar, wished the CM good luck for the presentation of the budget.
