Jammu and Kashmir: Security personnel injured as militants fire at patrol party

Synopsis

The attack took place when Army vehicles were moving from Baramulla to Srinagar in Hygam area of Sopore town in Baramulla district.


Srinagar: On August 12, a security force personnel sustained injuries after militants opened fire on a patrol party in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district.

According to reports, the ultras fired upon the patrol party of 52 Rashtriya Rifles unit at Hygam in Baramulla around 2:45 pm.

The attack took place when the Army vehicles were moving from Baramulla to Srinagar in Hygam area of Sopore town in Baramulla district. In the incident, one jawan sustained an injury in his leg.

Presently the  area has been cordoned off. Search operation has been launched to apprehend the assailants.
